Cheeseburgers are just one of those food items that become so hard to give up for those on a diet. However, you don't have to give them up completely if you know the right way to cook them in order to keep them healthy and make them your 'reward' for a diet well done. Here's a good recipe for a delicious inside out cheeseburger that you won't feel guilty eating.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 lb. ground beef (90%-lean)
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper

Directions

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

In a small bowl, combine the two different cheeses and set aside. In another bowl, mix the beef with the Worcestershire sauce, paprika and pepper until well blended -- don't overwork. Shape the beef into 8 thin patties about 4 inches wide each. Put 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture onto each of 4 patties, allowing about 1/2-inch on the sides without cheese. Cover them with the remaining 4 patties, seal the edges closed.

Lightly oil the rack of the grill and place the stuffed patties over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes on each side or until medium-well. Do not press down on the burgers as they cook or you will break them open and lose the cheese.

Let the burger stand and serve with any of your favorite toppings -- lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.
